INFORMATION ABOUT "BelAPDIiMI"

The NGO "BelAPDIiMI"

The NGO "BelAPDIiMI" unites about 4000 families bringing up children and young people with intellectual and physical disabilities.

BelAPDIiMI chairperson is Elena Titova E. Titiva

Our goal is

Creating equal in comparison with other people opportunities for disabled children and youth to participate in every field of social life.

Our main activities are

  • Psychological, social, legal support to families raising children and young people with disabilities,
  • Rehabilitation and health care activities for children and young people with disabilities,
  • Submitting of suggestions on changing the current legislation in order to improve the situation of people with disabilities,
  • Professional education and employment of young people with disabilities,
  • Spare time activities for children and young people with disabilities.

We create

  • groups of self-support,
  • specialized employment workshops for children and young people with disabilities.

We organize

  • international conferences, educational seminars,
  • festivals of children's creativity, sports events,
  • summer health care activities for children and parents,
  • family relaxation parties.

We strive for

  • living in family and participate in every field of social life for children and young people with any disability,
  • opportunity for parents of disabled children to work and be active members of our society,
  • changing people's attitude towards the disabled people considering them as unique personalities but not through the prism of their diagnosis.

Our partners

We are constantly supported by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus,
the Department for Humanitarian Activities of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus,
by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, by the Ministry of Education,
by Regional executive committees, Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M.Tank,
the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus,
Christian Children’s Fund,
by city and regional administrations as well as by foreign NGOs and Charities,
such as “Star of Hope” (Sweden);
“Lebenshilfe”, “Project Group to Assist the Children of Chernobyl”, “Fortochka”, “Bethel”, (Germany);
“Leaves of Hope for Belarusian Children”, “Summer Projects in Belarus” (Great Britain), “Koraal Group”, “Fontys OSO” (the Netherlands);
